College Entrance Exams

College entrance exams are standardized tests which are often needed in order to be considered for acceptance to post-secondary institutions or scholarship programs. Students traditionally take these official exams beginning in their Junior year of high school, but can start preparing and studying for them much earlier. The three most common College entrance exams are the SAT, ACT, and CLT. Golden View does not offer the ACT.

  • Students are advised to take all three tests at least once, and preferably more than once

  • Obtaining a 500 or above on the math section of the SAT or a 50 on the math section of the ASVAB are two ways to satisfy the Demonstration of Knowledge in Math which is a graduation requirement at Golden View

2024-25 Assessment Dates

PSAT and SAT (In School Assessment):

  • October 17, 2024: PSAT/NMSQT administered to all Juniors

  • April 16, 2025: PSAT-8/9 administered to all Freshman, PSAT-10 administered to all Sophomores, and SAT administered to all Juniors

  • Other available SAT dates (not administered at GVCA): October 5, November 2, December 7, March 8, May 3, June 7

CLT (In School Assessment):

  • February 12, 2025: CLT-10 administered to all Freshman and Sophomores

  • February 20, 2025: CLT administered to all Juniors

ACT (not administered at GVCA): October 26, December 14, February 8, April 5, June 14, July 12
