Earn College Credit
There are three ways to obtain college credit at Golden View: Concurrent Enrollment with Western Colorado University, AP exams, and CLEP exams.
Concurrent Enrollment Program
This program, through Western Colorado University, allows students to receive college credit through high school courses taken at GVCA. Students will have the option to register for Concurrent Enrollment credit at the beginning of the Fall or Spring semester.
Concurrent Enrollment courses are free of charge through the Colorado Opportunity Fund.
Listed course offerings are subject to change based on teacher availability. For the 2024-25 school year, Concurrent Enrollment will be offered for Drawing, Painting, and Marine Biology (Spring 2025 only).
Advanced Placement (AP) Exams
While Golden View does not offer AP courses in order to retain our thoughtfully design curriculum, we do administer any AP Exam a student may be interested in taking.
Exams are ordered in the Fall and administered in May each year. For the 2024-25 school year, the deadline to register and pay for an AP Exam is November 8, 2024.
Use the AP College Board Credit Policy search to discover what scores each college accepts on the exams.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Testing
CLEP allows students to take exams on their own time at home or at a CLEP Test Center to try to earn college credit.
Interested students can register to take these exams here.
**Please note that each college, university, and institution develops its own policies regarding concurrent / dual enrollment courses, AP testing, and CLEP testing to align with the institution’s overall academic mission. Students will need to become familiar with the credit transfer policies at each school to which they are applying.
